WorkForce Partnership
Normandale Community College and Carolyn Vinup have developed a partnership program to provide support and growth opportunities for individuals in transition, career seekers, displaced workers, unemployed and individuals trying to re-enter the workforce.
Their mission is to strengthen existing partnerships, develop new relationships & create opportunities with workforce centers, employment agencies, recruiters, educational institutions that support the advancement and growth opportunities for dislocated workers.
A Message from Carolyn
The world of work is changing. The workers of today and tomorrow need to be more fluid, flexible, innovative and savvy. We are living in the times of the ‘Liquid WorkForce’; here today and gone tomorrow. In order to maintain some control over this ever changing business landscape, more and more people are seeking multiple income streams and pursuing “Preneurial” training. Prenuerial training allows individuals to be more fluid in the workplace as Intrapreneurs (working as independent contractors inside organizations) or as entrepreneurs. Whether the path toward preneurship is voluntarily chosen or not, training in this area will significantly increase your odds of success. Maintaining your skills and expanding your talents, plus honing your strengths through additional training makes good sense. Keeping your business self alive and vibrant will ensure your value in the workforce. Our goal for you is to be in control and manage your own destiny. We want you to maximize who you are, focus on what you want and determine where you want to go to gain control over your career. The New World of Work is shifting the way we think about jobs and careers. The workers of today and tomorrow need to be more fluid, flexible, innovative and business savvy. We are living in the times of the fluid workforce and it’s an ever changing landscape.
The statistics claim that every 2-3 years many people will be changing jobs/careers and a high percentage of employed workers currently are dissatisfied with their jobs. The New World of Work supports individuals who are focused on keeping skills current, expanding strengths and exploring new talents.
Companies, organizations and educational institutions hire Carolyn to develop new programs, produce highly visible events, and pull together teams that think “out of the box”. Carolyn mission is to help individuals understand the value and power of having multiple income streams and more and more individuals are becoming independent contractors, freelancers, intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs. The goal is to share information, knowledge and insight in the classroom, on the job, in workshops and events where we help level the playing field so people can thrive in the 21st century.
