About Carolyn

Carolyn Vinup is passionate about health and wellness and is currently consulting
with Normandale Community College on a variety of projects. She is helping develop, build and brand the Integrative Health Education Center which currently has 80 instructors and this team is really “your partner in health”. Working on this project is like having one of Carolyn’s dreams come true. When she created HPSS Global in 2005, building the Integrative Health Education Center was one of her visions. HPSS Global, a wellness agency and event production company partnered with Normandale for several years and together developed many outstanding programs, classes, workshops and events.

In 2010 and 2011, Carolyn was hired to be part of a federal grant that Normandale received to train 300 people in two years in Health Information Technology. It is a six month online training and is an emerging career field. Carolyn and her team lead the recruitment effort and secured enormous amounts of Media and Press. Barb Mednick, a media relations expert secured a front page article in the Business section of the Star Tribune. During our recruitment efforts for year two our team expanded and included Barb, and Steven Geller, media specialist at Normandale. This year our team secured several TV lead stories. We secured over 400 applications for 150 student spots; the training was in high demand. As an enhancement to the training Carolyn helped create CareerHITrac and CareerHITrac Success Day with Sunny Ainley and Catherine Byers Breet.

In 2010, Carolyn was hired for a 6 month project for WorkForce Partnership & Development, January –June 2010. Her mission was to create, lead, develop and expand WorkForce Partnership & Development for Normandale Community College. She expanded current relationships with WorkForce Centers, WorkForce Counselors, Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED), and key partners in the community. After a few weeks of being on the project Carolyn quickly realized and created an opportunity for all the partners to join forces and work together. In May 2010, the first “Herd Event” was born. In May, Carolyn produced an event called “Join a Different Herd-Rebrand Your Career”. This event was truly an example of collaboration in action; it involved many partners from the Department of Employment and Economic Development, WorkForce Centers, Community Leaders, over 30 speakers, chief stripe changer Catherine Byers Breet, Jeanne Larson and Thrivent Financial. This first event was attended by over 600 people.

This contract has been extended and she still currently works on WorkForce Partnership & Development for Normandale Community College. As an extension of this project, a new program was developed called “The New World of Work”, the classes and events are focused on Career Changers, Job Seekers and those in Transition. The New World of Work Institute is program that was developed in collaboration with Catherine Byers Breet, Jeanne Larson, Kate Madonna Hindes, Claire Nelligan and many others. We are all committed to making the 21^st century a place where people thrive and can come to fill skill gaps and step into work that’s more meaningful and fulfilling.

Current Event Work:

ITR 2012 Global Conference for Natureworks. The conference was held in Orlando, Florida in February. Edg Productions and HPSS Global joined forces and managed the project together.

Tess Wald Productions hired Carolyn to manage the Meetings, Offices, Exhibits, and Registration for SEIU 2012 in Denver Colorado, 4000 people in May-June 2012.

www.HPSSGlobal.com is a business Carolyn created in 2005. She combined her passion for health & wellness with her love for producing events. She developed a massive website with 40 speakers and wellness experts and produced events focused on health and vitality.

Creating Sacred Space was a business Carolyn created in 2001 where she focused on consulting for businesses as well as individual appointments. She also was an instructor at Anoka Ramsey & Normandale Community Colleges. Her favorite classes to teach are Feng Shui-Uplifting the Energy of Spaces, Creating Sacred Space, Maximizing Your Potential, Chanting Sacred Sounds and Mantras and the Essence of Sound.

Vinup Unlimited, Inc was Carolyn’s first business that she created in 1998. Its sole purpose was to produce events that made people happy, feel joyful, create memories, and lasting impressions.
